“Good times and natural wines” is the slogan of this beautiful wine bar in Kreuzberg. Arran, originally from New Zealand, has been in Berlin since 2008 and has worked in the coffee industry up until today. Together with his friend Hubert from Paris, they opened The Rad, a joyful wine bar with a cosy atmosphere, flowers on a wooden bar, and a focus on natural wines.
Right next to the Markthalle Neun, you will find Nomi's creamy pink logo. Concrete walls meet a cosy atmosphere and modern interior. Here, you will be greeted by good vibes and good wine.
Right next to the ancient Berlin Wall in Berlin Mitte, you will find Mauernwinzer. Walls filled with wine bottles and a fireplace, perfect for the season. Peter Brock, the owner of Mauernwinzer and a qualified sommelier, opened the wine bar back in 2015 and works today alongside his wife. The bar is known for its respectful selection of German wines, from small vintners to more well-known producers. The goal is to sell wines of high quality but affordable to anyone. A close relationship with their vintners is of great importance.
The word Freundschaft (eng. friendship) is written over the door of this lovely wine bar. The name of the bar invites to a friendly and intimate evening but is also based on a deeper collective, as Billy, the owner, explained to us.
Walking down SophienstraĂźe, you will pass by a little sign of a wine bottle shooting into space. At first sight, Rocket looks like a cosy yet ordinary wine shop. But behind the counter is an almost hidden, long wooden table for guests to share a glass or two.
