Happening in parallel to the Berlin Gallery Weekend (April 26–28), Paper Positions is the perfect occasion for modern and contemporary art amateurs to (re)discover famous artists as well as younger talents. Apart from well-known names from the classical modernism and 19th century, contemporary artists works will be exhibited, such as Enne Haehnle, Thomas Trum, Tim Berresheim, Tiziana Jill Beck, Rozbeh Asmani, Aline Schwibbe, Farnijaz Zaker and Hiroyuki Abe, to name just a few.
In a salon-like atmosphere designed to facilitate exchange and communication, 60 national and international art galleries will be present at Paper Positions this year, displaying a total of 150 artistic works.
As the name suggests, Paper Positions focuses on paper as the central theme of the event, exclusively showcasing works made on and from paper. This emphasis on the material paper as the only medium of expression boosts artists’ creativity and encourages them to experiment. It also contributes to lower material costs, making Paper Positions the perfect rendez-vous for aspiring art collectors to discover and acquire unique pieces.
For the first time this year, a special edition of the famous Paper Positions tote bag has been exclusively designed by the artist Ruohan Wang. A limited number of 50 pieces, all personalized by the artist, will be available for sale at the event.
