On June 10, we hosted our event AnotHER Berlin Story: Women in Digital. In the intimate, bright, and beautiful setting of Cookies Cream Berlin, we brought together 30 women working across different sectors, from fashion and media to HR and entrepreneurship, all growing alongside and implementing the latest technologies and AI.
We began with a warm welcome from The Columbist's Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Elena Kaplyar-Balzer, who introduced the magazine's curated lunch event and set the tone for an afternoon of connection and conversation. The owner of Cookies Cream, Cookie Heinz Gindullis, also welcomed us into the elegant atmosphere of Berlin's Michelin-starred vegetarian and vegan restaurant. As we learned, this was only the second lunch event hosted at the venue since its opening.

Everyone arrived with a genuine excitement to connect with other women who are building their own paths and stepping confidently into the future. The exceptional hospitality and three-course meal prepared by Cookies Cream's new Head Chef Patrick Ziegert, only added a pleasantly curious flavor to the conversations unfolding around the table. Throughout the afternoon, women from different industries shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and reflected on the opportunities and challenges they encounter as leaders, founders, creatives, and innovators in the digital space.
We were brought together by one question many of us have been thinking about: How can we use technology to stay more connected and human-centered? Each woman at the table brought her own perspective and experience to this question, yet we all had a shared understanding of the power of community, mutual support, and staying open to the changes shaping the digital world.
Â
To open the discussion, we invited entrepreneur and community-builder Ina Remmers for a conversation moderated by our Editor, Eleonora Hristova. Just one day earlier, Ina had taken the stage at TEDxBerlin's “A World with AI”. As she shared with us, she was still "on Cloud 9" from the experience. Her energy and excitement carried into the conversation as she reflected on her journey from co-founding nebenan.de, a digital platform connecting local neighborhoods and communities in Berlin, to building the Rulemapping Group, which uses AI and rule-based systems to make complex law and bureaucracy more accessible, transparent, and citizen-friendly. Her story resonated deeply with the women in the room and sparked thoughtful questions and reflections from our guests.

We also took the opportunity to ask a question to another TEDxBerlin speaker joining us at the lunch, Elena Poughia, founder of Data Natives, Europe's largest data science community. Elena shared insights from her experience building a platform that connects thousands of professionals across technology, AI, and data, sharing with us what makes a tech community powerful enough to influence real change.
The women in the room were united by their courage. Each had taken steps to make her voice heard, build something meaningful, and contribute to shaping the future in her own way. When we asked the group, "What should women stop being afraid of?", answers came quickly. Regardless of experience, industry, or career stage, many of us still carry limiting beliefs that hold us back. Ultimately, what we can do as a women’s community is support each other and keep growing, buidling, and learning from each other.
Â
Berlin has long been a city of experimentation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Bringing together women who are actively contributing to that ecosystem showed us that building a furure-proof digital world requires not only the technology, but also the people, relationships, and the stories we choose to tell about the future. This event was a beaitfully written chapter of “AnotHER Berlin Story”, and we look forward to telling more of them!
