If you prefer to get your own bike but are not ready to spend a lot of money on a brand new one, bike markets are the perfect place to find your future adventure buddy. Established in 2015 as a small backyard bicycle flea market in Kreuzberg, the Berliner Fahrradmarkt has since grown to become one of the largest markets for used bikes. Open once a month from March to November, the Berliner Fahrradmarkt runs from 10 am to 3 pm in four different neighborhoods across the city. The market offers affordable second-hand bikes for purchase (or sale), a free swapping platform for children’s bikes, and repair services for a nominal fee.Â

Created in 2011, VELO Berlin is an annual biking festival held at the historic Tempelhof airport. Featuring numerous exhibitors such as bicycle brands, retailers, and service partners, the event showcases trends and innovations in the bike industry, focusing on sustainable mobility, travel, and lifestyle. The program includes talks, shows, and bike races. In 2024, the festival attracted approximately 20,000 visitors and hosted over 200 exhibitors.

Have you ever encountered a large group of cyclists on the streets of Berlin? Perhaps you witnessed Critical Mass, an event that gathers thousands of bike enthusiasts every first Sunday and last Friday of the month. They peacefully cycle through the city streets to raise awareness of the urban cycling community. The first Critical Mass in Berlin took place in September 1997 with just twenty participants. Over the years, as cycling became a real lifestyle, the event grew into the massive gathering it is known as today.
Steel Vintage Bike, a bike store, has opened unique coffee shops for all the bicycle enthusiasts. Located in the heart of Mitte, these places are designed to celebrate the rich cultural and historical legacy of biking. The walls are decorated with an impressive collection of restored bicycles, each of which is available for sale.
