First things first, you can never go wrong with a Frozen Margarita. This cocktail works for any summer occasion, especially frozen. It's easy and so good when the temperature surpasses 30 degrees. All you need is a mixer, tequila, lime, and ice. Mix it all together and pour it into a salt-rimmed margarita glass. Enjoy it like Ross did in the scene of Friends where he had made margaritas and famously said, “I'm fiiiiiine” in his high-pitched voice.
Not to forget the Daiquiri cocktail, a must on this list of fruity cocktails. It is a favourite among fruity cocktails and can be made of strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, and so on, whatever the warm days call for. We found a beautiful pineapple daiquiri that will catapult you onto the poolside under the burning sun of Cuba.
Pineapple Daiquiri
2 ounces white rum
1 ounce pineapple juice or 4 fresh pineapple pieces
½ ounce lime juice
½ simple syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and give it a shake—strain into a chilled cocktail glass. If using fresh pineapple, muddle the pineapple pieces in the shaker before adding the ingredients.
Optional: a fresh piece of pineapple on the rim of the glass and add a little umbrella to get the vacation vibes started.

While its all about the newest trends, let's not forget the classics that have stood the test of time. The Aperol Spritz, for instance, is a versatile favourite that can be enjoyed on various occasions. And for those who want to add a twist to this classic, try the Limoncello Spritz, where Aperol is replaced by Limoncello and finished off with a branch of Thyme as garnish. If you're looking for a change from the Spritz, go with a Basil Smash, a whole new adventure in your cocktail glass. Start by grinding the basil in a shaker and top up with gin, lemon juice, and a bit of sugar syrup. Shake and pour over an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with some fresh basil, and with no effort, you already look like a pro.
Basil Smash
12 Basil leaves
2 ounces dry gin
Âľ Lemon juice
â…“ Sugar syrup (1:1, sugar:water)
Put the basil leaves in the shaker and muddle them to a rough paste. Add the other liquids and shake them with ice. Strain over an ice-filled glass.
Optional: Garnish with two fresh basil leaves.
With the beautiful smell of summer in the air, there's a desire to seize the day, maybe plan a weekend in the countryside. Nostalgic feelings come up for a romantic summer affair. What about a cocktail that embodies this romantic feel? The rose martini with grapefruit bitter and a rose-infused simple syrup is a perfect choice. Or how about a Jasmin martini where the dry vermouth is replaced by Jasmin tea, which gives it an intense and slightly bitter flavour? Sweeten with honey and garnish with Jasmin flowers. This calls for a warm and fuzzy garden party!
Rose martini
2 ounces gin
1-ounce dry vermouth
1 teaspoon of rose-infused simple syrup
3 dashes of grapefruit bitter or grapefruit juice
Rose-infused simple syrup can be bought online, but if you're motivated, you can easily make it yourself. Heat 110g of water, add 400g of cane sugar and boil until the sugar is dissolved. Add 100g of rose water and let cook for 15 minutes. Take it off the heat and bottle it up when cooled down.
For the cocktail, mix gin, dry vermouth, and rose syrup in a shaker. Fill with ice and shake. Strain over a chilled martini glass and finish with the grapefruit bitters.
Optional: Garnish with a rose paddle, leaning on the rim.
You're my spicy margarita, babe. Get in the mood with a margarita made of jalapenos, white tequila, orange liquor, and lemon juice. It's a badass drink and will undoubtedly be a hit at any summer party. While we're already in Mexico, we must recommend the Michelada, which is a personal favourite. It is prepared with a cool lager, tomato juice, and a spicy sauce, and then finished with lemon juice. Sounds weird? Yes, but the perfect flavour combination and the fresh beer will make you dream of Mexican markets and tacos.
Spicy Margarita
1 half of a lime
2 jalapeno peppers (remove seeds and cut into coins)
2 ounces white tequila
½ ounce triple sec (like Grand Manier or Cointreau)
1 ounce lime juice
½ agave syrup
Start with the most crucial part: the salted rim. Cover the rim of the margarita glass with the juice of half a lime before coating it with salt—don't overdo it. Put the jalapenos in a shaker and gently muddle. Add the rest of the ingredients, including ice, and shake well—strain into the prepared margarita glass, and voilà .
Optional: Garnish with a thin jalapeno coin on the surface. The Mexican-themed rooftop party can begin.
The Negroni is THE favourite cocktail of so many. It is truly an icon when well made and unique, for it is not to be found in any bar. A different approach to Negronis caught light this year, called a Negroni Sbagliato, where the gin is replaced by prosecco. It is said to have been created by an Italian barman in Miland, who accidentally reached for the Prosecco bottle instead of the Gin one.
Another loyal bestseller is, yes, you guessed it right, the Espresso Martini. It's perfection in a glass that can also be enjoyed in summer. We found a creative approach with an orange twist. Coffee and orange are a perfect match, and we were overwhelmed by the flavour scheme.
Espresso Martini with an orange twist
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce cold espresso or strong cold brew
½ coffee liqueur (like Kahlua)
½ triple sec
3 drops of Angostura bitters (optional)
In a shaker, mix vodka, coffee, coffee liqueur, and triple sec with ice and shake well. Strain over a chilled martini glass. Add the Angostura bitters for a bit of extra flavour.
Optional: Place a thin slice of orange on top of the foam.
Choosing low- or no-alcohol cocktails is becoming a huge trend in the bar industry. Almost every bar or restaurant offers at least one low- or no-alcohol cocktail. These are great alternatives for those who don't drink or at least try to take it easy. Especially for warm summer days, those cocktails are the perfect refreshment. We can definitely recommend the Rebujito. A Spanish low-alcohol cocktail made with mint and sherry. Topped up with lemon soda, this drink can even be enjoyed in the early evening.
Rebujito
3 ounces dry sherry
6 ounces lemon soda (like Sprite)
5-6 leaves of mint
Muddle the mint leaves in a shaker, then add the sherry and ice. Pour over an ice-filled cocktail glass, the leaves included. Top up with the lemon soda. Give in a last stir before serving.
Optional: Top up with a lemon slice, and if you're feeling extra fancy, add a mint leaf as well.
