There are a few things Germans take particularly seriously: cars, engineering and good design. Italians, meanwhile, have turned coffee into something of a national art form. And somewhere in between, there is Berlin, a city where specialty coffee has become part of everyday culture, where people happily discuss the perfect espresso and where a beautifully designed coffee machine can be as desirable as a piece of furniture.
So what happens when one of Germany's most iconic sports car manufacturers joins forces with one of Italy's most legendary espresso machine makers?
We travelled to Stuttgart for the launch of the new Porsche x La Marzocco 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Collection at the Porsche Museum. And we have to say, the combination makes more sense than you might initially think.

The inspiration comes from the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, introduced in 1972. With its distinctive colours, lightweight construction and famous "ducktail" rear spoiler, it remains one of the most recognisable classics in automotive history.
Now imagine translating that design into an Italian espresso machine. That is exactly what Porsche and La Marzocco have done with their second collaboration, following the first collection in 2024.
The result is a limited-edition version of La Marzocco's Linea Micra, a compact, professional-quality espresso machine designed for the home. It comes in three colour combinations inspired by the original 911: white and green, tangerine and black, and white and blue.
Our personal favourite? Definitely the white and green version. There is something about that classic combination that feels both wonderfully retro and surprisingly contemporary. We can easily imagine it looking just as good in a Berlin kitchen as beside a vintage Porsche.
Even the smallest details reference the car, from the Carrera RS lettering to a cup rail inspired by the famous rear spoiler.
We particularly like the idea of bringing a piece of automotive design history into an everyday ritual. After all, a good espresso and a beautiful classic car have something in common: both are about precision, craftsmanship and the pleasure of the experience.

But what makes these two brands such a natural match?
We asked Deniz Keskin, Director Brand Management and Partnerships at Porsche AG, what makes La Marzocco a particularly interesting partner.
"Porsche and La Marzocco share a passion for exceptional products that place craftsmanship, quality and design at their core. Both brands create products that go far beyond their pure function, inspiring enthusiasm and emotion."
And that is perhaps the most interesting part of this collaboration. A Porsche is not simply about getting from A to B, just as a great espresso is not simply about caffeine.
La Marzocco, founded in Florence in 1927, has spent almost a century perfecting the art of espresso. Its machines have become familiar sights in specialty coffee shops around the world, including the kind of cafés that have shaped Berlin's coffee scene.

What we found particularly interesting during our visit to Stuttgart was how naturally Porsche is moving beyond the automotive world into design, culture and lifestyle.
We asked Deniz how collaborations like this help the brand connect with new audiences while staying true to its identity.
"Porsche stands for much more than the product alone. The brand is closely connected to design, culture and a certain way of life. What also connects Porsche and La Marzocco are strong communities with a great passion for their respective brands and surprisingly many shared interests."
He also emphasised that such partnerships bring people together through shared interests and create new ways to connect with Porsche, while remaining authentic to the brand's identity.
We think this is particularly relevant to Berlin, where communities often form around shared passions, whether that is vintage cars, architecture, art, design or the search for the perfect espresso. You don't necessarily need to own a Porsche to appreciate the beauty of a classic 911. And you don't have to be a professional barista to fall in love with a beautifully crafted Italian coffee machine.
Leaving the Porsche Museum, we kept thinking about how two seemingly different worlds can come together so naturally. German precision meets Italian passion. Automotive heritage meets contemporary coffee culture. And a sports car icon finds an unexpected new home on the kitchen counter.
For Berliners who love good coffee, classic cars and objects with a story, it is a combination that makes surprisingly perfect sense.
